Rep. Sykes Condemns Iranian Escalation Against Israel
Akron, OH - U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) released the following statement condemning Iran’s attack on Israel this week.
“I strongly condemn the Iranian attack on our ally Israel, the second major attack this year, which is escalating tensions in the Middle East and putting civilians in harm’s way,” said Rep. Sykes. “Iran is the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and since October 7, 2023, Iran has rallied terrorist attacks on Israel from Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and militias in Syria and Iraq.”
“The United States must stand with our ally Israel and ensure it has the support it needs to protect its citizens while working with the international community to combat Iran and their support for terrorist proxies.”
