Rep. Sykes Joins House Aerospace Caucus
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Strong Sykes (OH-13) announced she has been confirmed as member of the House Aerospace Caucus for the 118th Congress:
“Ohio is the ‘Birthplace of Aviation,’ and Ohio’s 13th District continues to be a pioneer in the aviation and aerospace industry,” said Rep. Sykes. “As a member of the bipartisan Aerospace Caucus, I am committed to growing our aerospace community, investing in airports big and small, from Akron-Canton Airport to Kent State University Airport, and strengthening workforce development programs to empower the next generation of technicians and pilots.”
Ohio’s 13th Congressional District includes the Akron-Canton Airport, Kent State University Airport, and Akron Fulton Airport. Additionally, the University of Akron is the only institution in the United States outside of the U.S. Air Force Academy that offers a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering, and the Kent State University Airport uses state-of-the-art facilities to train aspiring pilots, mechanics, and technicians.
