Rep. Sykes Announces Committee, Subcommittee Assignments for 119th Congress

Washington, D.C. — For the 119th Congress, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced she has been named Vice Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and will retain her seat on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

Rep. Sykes will continue serving on the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittees on Water Resources and Environment and the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and will now also sit on the Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials. On the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, Rep. Sykes will be the Ranking Member on the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee and will no longer serve on the Research and Technology Subcommittee.

“I am honored to serve the people of Ohio’s 13th Congressional District in my capacity on the Transportation & Infrastructure, and Science, Space, & Technology Committees,” said Rep. Sykes. “Through my positions on these committees and subcommittees, I am able to draft legislation, like the bipartisan RAIL Act, and secure resources like critical grant funding to support the Akron Sustainable Polymers Tech Hub. While my role in these committees is critical to my communities, it is only possible with the voices of Ohio 13 that I bring with me to Washington. In the 119th Congress, I’ll make sure that those voices are heard loud and clear.”
