Rep. Sykes Announces Nearly $370,000 HHS Grant for Interval Brotherhood Home
AKRON, OHIO — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced the Department of Health & Human Services has awarded Interval Brotherhood Home (IBH) $369,317 through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Targeted Capacity Expansion: Special Projects (TCE-SP) grant program.
The award will support the continued operation of IBH’s recovery housing program, which provides safe, stable, and sober housing for clients transitioning out of residential treatment. While in the program, clients receive outpatient treatment, ongoing peer support, and connections to local employment opportunities, along with workshops designed to build practical skills and support long-term self-sufficiency.
“This federal investment in Interval Brotherhood Home will strengthen access to critical mental health and substance use disorder services for Summit County residents,” said Rep. Sykes. “It will provide individuals with the support they need to pursue recovery, and I look forward to seeing the continued impact of this funding in our community.”

This award is the first distribution of the more than $1.1 million in federal funding awarded by SAMHSA in February 2026 to support Interval Brotherhood Home’s recovery housing program over multiple years.
