Rep. Sykes Celebrates Two Years Of The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Delivering Results For Ohio’s 13th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) celebrated the second anniversary of President Biden signing into law the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and highlighted projects made possible by this historic investment. The funding included in the BIL is improving quality of life and creating good-paying jobs in our communities.

“In just two years, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is already delivering results for the people of Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. This historic legislation makes unprecedented investments in our nation’s infrastructure, making our economy stronger by creating hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs, cutting costs for businesses and families, and improving access to opportunities,”  said Rep. Sykes. “I’ve worked hard to secure millions of dollars in funding for our district. Whether it be the over $37 million awarded to METRO RTA to repair transit facilities and improve access to public transportation, $3.4 million to enhance the Akron-Canton airport, or millions of dollars to repair roads and bridges across the district, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is improving the quality of life for people in our communities. As the only Ohioan on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I’ll continue working to bring more of these essential funds back to Northeast Ohio.”

The BIL has delivered significant funds to several key projects in Ohio’s 13th District including, but not limited to:

  • $37.8 million to METRO RTA to upgrade existing bus and operations facilities;
  • $4.9 million?to repave and improve the bridge on SR-8 from Graham Rd. to SR-303 in Summit County;
