Rep. Sykes Elected Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced that she has been elected Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus. She will serve alongside Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) to carry out the Caucus’s longstanding mission of advancing bipartisan policies that improve the lives of women, girls, and families across the country.
Reps. Sykes and De La Cruz took over the gavel for the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus from U.S. Representatives Kat Cammack (FL-03) and Susie Lee (NV-03), who led the Caucus during the 118th Congress.
“As the representative for one of the most bipartisan congressional districts in the country, it is an honor to be handed the gavel as the Co-Chair of the historic Bipartisan Women’s Caucus,” said Rep. Sykes. “It is as vital as ever that members of both political parties come together to enact real change for the American people. Just over half of all Americans are women, yet we make up less than 30% of the House of Representatives. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing women across the political spectrum to make sure that women and girls are not left behind by our government.”
“I am honored to be elected Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus,” said Rep. De La Cruz. “At a time when families across America face real challenges, it is more important than ever to work across party lines to find meaningful solutions. I look forward to leading the Caucus alongside Congresswoman Sykes to support policies that empower women, strengthen families, and create greater opportunities for all.”
Founded in 1977, the Bipartisan Congressional Women’s Caucus serves as a unifying force in Congress, bringing together women from both sides of the aisle to address key issues such as economic opportunity, health care, education, and workforce development. The Caucus is unique in its bipartisan leadership and collaborative approach to policymaking.
