Rep. Sykes Hosts Breakfast with Faith Leaders from Across OH-13
AKRON, OH — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) hosted a roundtable with faith leaders from across Ohio’s 13th Congressional District to discuss local issues, foster collaboration, and provide an update about her legislative activity in D.C.
“From day one, my goal has been to connect our community to Congress. Faith leaders provide valuable insight to one of the pillars of society – our faith community,” said Rep. Sykes. “I’m proud to have convened a meeting of faith leaders from across denominations to collaborate on important issues impacting us all.”
During the roundtable, participants discussed the federal grants process, including the Trump Administration’s pause on federal grants and loans, and how Rep. Sykes can assist with finding and supporting federal funding opportunities for our community. Additionally, participants highlighted ongoing concerns related to gun violence, bolstering the middle class, helping ensure their congregations’ safety, and ensuring that our education system works for all children.
