Rep. Sykes Hosts North Canton Community Conversation To Discuss Growing The Middle Class

NORTH CANTON, OH — U.S. Representative Emilia Strong Sykes (OH-13) hosted a Community Conversation in North Canton on Wednesday at Walsh University. During the Community Conversation, Rep. Sykes provided an overview of services provided by the office, and her work to Grow the Middle Class, including lowering costs, investing in America, and creating a fair tax system that respects working- and middle-class people. Rep. Sykes was joined by Matt Reed, Senior Vice President of Community Engagement for Direction Home Akron Canton, to highlight local efforts to ensure seniors have a safe and secure retirement.

“As we celebrate the one-year anniversaries of landmark legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, it’s clear Democrats are delivering meaningful results which will improve the lives of people in Northeast Ohio,” said Rep. Sykes. “It was wonderful to speak with residents in North Canton about ways we can lower costs, invest in America, and connect working- and middle-class people with the tools and resources they need to succeed. When our middle class is strong, our economy is strong. I’ll continue hosting Community Conversations like these across Ohio’s 13th District so I can best bring your voices with me to Congress.”

Rep. Sykes concluded the Community Conversation by answering questions from constituents about the issues that are most important to them.

Community Conversations are always free and open to the public. Information about future Community Conversation and other constituent events can be found by visiting https://sykes.house.gov/about/events
