Rep. Sykes Meets With The Mayor’s Association of Portage, Stark & Summit To Discuss Priorities For 2024
AKRON, OH — This week, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) met with the new and returning mayors from across Ohio’s 13th Congressional District for the first Mayor’s Association of Portage, Stark & Summit (MAPSS) monthly meeting of the year to discuss the top priorities for 2024 within the district.
“Mayors truly have one of the toughest jobs in public service, leading our local governments which are critical in delivering the everyday services people rely on. It was a pleasure to speak with the Mayor’s Association of Portage, Stark and Summit Counties about how we can collaborate to best serve our constituents,” said Rep. Sykes. “I look forward to working with mayors throughout Ohio’s 13th Congressional District to continue lowering costs, keeping our communities safe, and building an economy that works for everyone.”
Topics discussed during the meeting included federal grant funding opportunities available to local communities in OH-13 that Rep. Sykes’ office can help identify, working with local governments to solve problems that are important to the communities themselves, and an update about the status of federal government funding.
