Rep. Sykes’ Statement On Motion To Vacate House Speaker Mike Johnson

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) voted to table a motion to remove Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House of Representatives. 

“Political games distract from the real issues that our constituents face. The people of Ohio’s 13th District sent me to Congress to lower costs, keep our communities safe, and grow the middle class, and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do. I hope my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will join me in putting people first. Enough is enough. Stop playing games and let’s get to work,” said Rep. Sykes.
