Rep. Sykes Urges Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital And Ohio Nurses Association To Reach An Equitable Contract Agreement
AKRON, OH – Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) wrote to leadership at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, urging them to work to reach an equitable agreement with their nursing staff as soon as possible. Nurses at the hospital are represented by the Ohio Nurses Association.
“I strongly encourage Cleveland Clinic Akron General and the Ohio Nurses Association to secure a fair settlement that honors the dignity of the work of the nurses and avoids a strike to maintain the continuity of quality care for our community. Like you, these workers care deeply about the health of our community and are committed to ensuring patients get the best possible care. I urge both sides to find a way toward reaching a fair and equitable agreement in a timely manner,” wrote Rep. Sykes.
The current contract between Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital and the Ohio Nurses Association is set to expire Friday, March 1 at midnight.
