Statement on President Trump's Dangerous Escalation and Reckless Rhetoric

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) issued the following statement following President Trump’s deeply disturbing social media post that risks escalating the conflict in Iran:

“Threatening to kill an entire civilization is quite frankly disgusting, beneath the Office of the Presidency, and an affront to our American values. It is past time for Congress to reign in this reckless war that the American people did not ask for and cannot afford. If we fail to act, the consequences could be catastrophic.”
