Fighting For Affordable Healthcare

March 23 marked the 16-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This historic legislation, championed by Democrats, expanded Medicare and Medicaid and protected patients with pre-existing conditions. The ACA made health care more accessible than ever before for Americans.   Sixteen years later, Congresswoman Sykes and her Democratic colleagues are continuing to protect and strengthen the ACA. Through the addition of the ACA enhanced premium tax credits, millions of Americans saw their insurance premiums lowered by thousands of dollars per year. Due to the Republicans’ refusal to extend these cost-saving tax credits, Americans have seen their health care costs skyrocket and millions have had to forgo their coverage.
