Rep. Sykes Recognizes Black Maternal Health Week

Representative Sykes stood on the House Floor to recognize Black Maternal Health Week. Congresswoman Sykes is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Vice Chair of the Democratic Women's Caucus, and Chair of the Reproductive Justice task Force. Following Black Maternal Health Week, Rep. Sykes spoke on the House floor to highlight the urgent maternal health crisis facing Black women in Ohio and nationwide. She emphasized that these disparities are impacting real families across OH-13 and called for action—expanding access to care, strengthening Medicaid, and investing in community-based solutions—so every mother can receive safe, high-quality care.
