Rep. Sykes Announces 2024 Congressional Readers Club

AKRON, OH -- Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced her second annual Congressional Readers Club, open to K-12 students in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Students will have from June 1 to August 25 to read at least 10 books of their choosing. Rep. Sykes’ office has partnered with local libraries to provide a suggested list of books, but students are not limited to these recommendations.

“I am excited to announce the Congressional Readers Club for the second year in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District,” said Rep. Sykes. “As the school year comes to an end for the summer, the Congressional Readers Club is a great opportunity for students to continue to learn and grow year-round.”

Rep. Sykes’ office will send participating students a book log sheet and additional information, including deadlines and information on how to submit the student’s finished book list.  Students can find the suggested books at local schools, libraries, early childhood centers, and community centers.

All participants will be invited to an ice cream social with Rep. Sykes at the end of the summer, and each student who participates in the Congressional Readers Club will receive a special certificate of recognition from the Congresswoman. Students must have a parent or guardian complete a permission form to participate in the Congressional Readers Club.
