Rep. Sykes Announces Application Process For 2024 Congressional App Challenge
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) launched the application process for the 2024 Congressional Challenge, a nationwide app building competition for middle and high school students sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The winning app of the district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, along with winning apps from all participating districts across the country. The deadline to submit an app for consideration is October 24, 2024 by 11:59 p.m.
“I am excited to once again showcase the incredible talent of middle and high school students in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District,” said Rep. Sykes. “The 2024 Congressional App Challenge is an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their technological ingenuity and innovation. I encourage every middle and high school student in our district to apply so we may proudly display your talent in our nation’s capital.”
Students may either compete individually or in teams of up to four. Those competing individually must live or go to school in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. For those competing in teams, at least half of the team must live or go to school in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Applicants must submit a short video demonstrating their app and answer a few questions.
