Rep. Sykes Hosts Military Service Academy Webinar, Encourages Students In Ohio’s 13th Congressional District Apply To Prestigious Program
AKRON, OH — Yesterday, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) hosted an informational webinar about the U.S. Service Academy Nomination Process.
“Attending a Military Service Academy is a prestigious opportunity for those in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District who have an interest in a career in military service. As your Congresswoman, it’s an honor to put forth some of the best and brightest in our community to serve our country and defend our nation’s freedom,” said Rep. Sykes.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
