Rep. Sykes Secures $19,200 To Strengthen Cybersecurity in OH-13
CANTON, OH — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) awarded Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) technical assistance grants to two credit unions in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District to strengthen the organizations’ cybersecurity and digital capabilities. St. Joseph’s Parish Federal Credit Union will receive $10,000 and DN Community Federal Credit Union will receive $9,200.
“In a world where we rely so heavily on digital data, transactions, and information, it is vital that the businesses and organizations holding that data are secure from threats. These funds will help ensure that those in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District can trust our institutions with their information,” said Rep. Sykes. “I will continue to advocate for our community and bring back vital funding to improve the quality of life in our communities.”
The 2024 CDRLF grant initiatives support the efforts of low-income-designated credit unions to expand access to fair and affordable financial services to their members and communities—particularly those who would otherwise go underserved or unserved—to build capacity, to improve services, to offer innovative financial products, and to reinforce cybersecurity. The NCUA received more than $8.3 million in technical assistance grant applications and awarded more than $3.5 million to 135 eligible credit unions.
