Rep. Sykes Statement On H.R. 7888 Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) issued the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 7888, the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act. This bipartisan bill reauthorizes an essential intelligence authority, Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (“FISA”), and other FISA provisions for two years before they expire on April 19, 2024.

“H.R. 7888 will keep people in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District safe by ensuring our government can identify and combat the complex threats our nation faces every day, from terrorist threats to fentanyl supply chains to cyberwarfare from foreign adversaries,” said Rep. Sykes. “I was glad to join my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in support of H.R. 7888 to protect our national security.”
