Rep. Sykes Urges Swift Resolution In Springfield Local Schools Contract Negotiations
WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) sent a letter to Springfield Local School District Superintendent Shelley Monachino and the Springfield Local Schools Board of Education urging them to reach a contract agreement between the district and the Springfield Local Association of Classroom Teachers that honors the dignity of work, students, families, and all educational professionals.
“Springfield Local Schools thrive, and students are engaged, encouraged, and empowered to achieve their full potential when our teachers are supported and respected in the service and dedication they provide each day in and outside of the classroom. Our teachers are compassionate, skilled, and dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to provide each student an excellent education in a safe and supportive learning environment. Coming to an agreement in a timely manner is in the best interests of our students, our district, and our greater community,” wrote Rep. Sykes.
