Rep. Sykes Votes Against H.R. 7023
WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) voted against H.R. 7023, legislation which threatens access to clean water in our communities by rolling back protections in the Clean Water Act. This legislation also undermines ongoing, bipartisan efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the infrastructure permitting processes.
“Every person depends on clean water to live. H.R. 7023 threatens this essential resource by protecting polluters, making it easier for polluters to dump hazardous chemicals like PFAS into our waterways,” said Rep. Sykes. “Northeast Ohioans are already facing high water rates – this legislation will only make matters worse by forcing working people and families to pay for corporate pollution. I’ll continue advocating for sensible permitting reform that allows businesses to grow, lowers costs for families, and protects the health and safety of consumers in my district.”
